Romelia War Chronicle Anime Casts 14 More Actors

The television anime for Ryō Ariyama's light novel series 'Romelia War Chronicle: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Still Seems Doomed, So I Formed a Military Force' has revealed 14 more cast members. The announcement was made on the anime's official website on Friday, September 5, 2026.

Hiromichi Tezuka will voice Hans, with Tomohiro Yamaguchi as Glein. Ryūichi Hirose is cast as Jinni, Kenta Hosoda as Tarth, and Tasuku Kaito as Say. The new roles also include Rikuya Yasuda as Zeze, Hiroki Matsukawa as Bray, and Taiki Yamashita as Ben. Sōhei Horikane will voice Gatt, Naoki Sakurai is Rhett, and Mizuki Ishii is Shuro. Hayato Kimura, Shuntaro Hara, and Hiromu Mineta round out the announcements as Merrill, Borel, and Miitya, respectively.

Cast and Crew

These actors join a previously announced main cast led by Yuna Nemoto as the protagonist, Romelia von Graham. The supporting cast includes Jin Ogasawara as Al, Tomohiro Ōno as Ray, and Yūya Hirose as Henri Lleus Lionel. Sayaka Senbongi voices Elizabeth, with Mariya Ise as Ekaterina and Asaka as Ryoki. Shōya Chiba, Gakuto Kajiwara, Shun Horie, and Ryūnosuke Watanuki complete the principal cast as Gran, Ragn, Kyle, and Otto.

Hiroshi Shirai, known for his unit director work on 'Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero,' serves as director. Takahiro Hirata, an episode director for the first two seasons of 'The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You,' is the assistant director. Series composition and screenplay are handled by Aya Satsuki of 'Solo Camping for Two' and 'A Girl & Her Guard Dog' fame. Character design is a joint effort by Yoshiko Saitō and Yūta Ōtaka. The animation production is being handled by studio Atra.

Streaming and Premiere

Crunchyroll has secured the streaming rights for the anime and will stream it as it airs in Japan. The series had its world premiere earlier this year, screened at the Otakon event on July 31, 2026.

Source Material and Story

The anime adapts Ryō Ariyama's light novel series, which began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in 2019. It was later published in print under Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint. The series concluded with its sixth volume in November 2025 and has over 550,000 copies in circulation. Kodama illustrated the first novel volume, while Ryō Kamito illustrated volumes two through six. Kamito also provides the art for the ongoing manga adaptation, which launched on Mag Garden's Mag Comi platform in January 2022.

Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga adaptation for English release. The publisher describes the story: after being deemed useless and having her engagement annulled following the Demon King's defeat, Romelia von Graham returns home in disgrace. However, her journey taught her skills in trade, negotiation, finance, and intelligence. The source states, "With only her wits and brilliance, Rome will build an army of her own and keep the kingdom safe-no matter what it takes." Seven Seas released the third manga volume in English on August 11, 2026.

The music for the anime is composed by KOHTA YAMAMOTO, with music production by PONY CANYON.
