Yu Hibari's 'Watashi de Dōtei Suteta Kuse ni' Novels Get

A manga adaptation for Yu Hibari's light novel series 'Watashi de Dōtei Suteta Kuse ni' (Even Though You Lost Your Virginity to Me) has been announced. The manga will launch on Kadokawa's Shōnen Ace Plus website on September 29.

Shūsei Kirisaki is drawing the adaptation. The series is a post-breakup love comedy centered on childhood friends Kōta and Sakura.

The Story's Premise

Kōta and Sakura grew up together and were closer than best friends. Rumors suggested they were a perfect couple. They only dated once, however, and neither harbored any romantic feelings for the other.

After that single date, they maintained a comfortable, non-romantic relationship. Sakura begins teasing Kōta about losing his virginity to her. Kōta, who prides himself on knowing everything about Sakura, is shocked to learn she won a certain novel award. He gradually starts to see her as a girl pursuing her dreams. Their relationship begins to drift apart as a result.

Author Yu Hibari's light novels are published under Kadokawa's Dengeki Bunko imprint. U35 provides the illustrations. The first volume was released on April 10. The second volume shipped on August 7.

This is not the first of Hibari's works to receive a manga adaptation. Another light novel, 'Kokō na Kanojo to, Kanojo no Heya de Shiteru Koto,' also inspired a manga by Mugiko. That series launched in Kadokawa's Comic Alive magazine on June 27.

Another Hibari Adaptation

Hibari is also known for the light novel series 'Tenkō-saki no Seiso Karen na Bishōjo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi Datta Ken.' The series is often shortened to 'Tenbin.' It began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2020.

Kadokawa began publishing the novels with illustrations by Siso in 2021. The 11th volume was published on July 31. A manga adaptation by Kina Ōyama launched on Comic Walker as part of Kadokawa's 'Dora Dora Flat' website in 2021. Its seventh compiled volume was published in July 2025.

That series recently received a television anime adaptation. It premiered on July 6. Crunchyroll streamed the anime as it aired under the English title 'Oh Boy, Was I Wrong About Her.'
