Mai Kuraki broke her own Guinness World Record for most theme songs sung by the same artist for an animation series with her 30th Detective Conan contribution. On September 27, the Japanese pop and R&B singer achieved the record with her latest ending theme, 'Ai de Zenbu Dakishimete Aishite,' bringing her total number of Detective Conan theme songs to thirty and earning a new Guinness World Records certificate.
Milestone in a long-standing collaboration
Mai Kuraki's partnership with the long-running anime series began with the song 'Secret of my heart' in 2000. Since then, she has spent 26 years performing songs for both the television anime and its theatrical films. Her record-breaking 30th collaboration arrived during the anime’s own 30th-anniversary year. Mai Kuraki said, "I have completed my career's '30 YEARS × 30 SONGS' with the theme song."

Her latest song, 'Ai de Zenbu Dakishimete Aishite,' debuted as the ending theme for the September 26 episode titled 'The Sunset-Hued Final Performance (Opening Day).' The record was officially confirmed the following day.
Artist’s reflection on the journey
After receiving her certificate, Kuraki expressed deep gratitude. She called the series like family and emphasized that the record belongs to the fans and collaborators who supported her over the years. Looking back on her first Guinness World Records certification nine years ago, she recalled how many people had encouraged her to keep pushing the record further.
She stated she was genuinely thrilled and that it felt like a dream. Kuraki noted that so many people, not only her fans, had told her they hoped she would break the record again. To receive another certification nine years later made her incredibly happy. It felt as though she had carried everyone’s hopes to this moment. The collaboration album 'Kuraki Mai x Meitantei Conan Collaboration Best 30 -Kimi ga Itekratakara, Uta ga Aru-' will be released on November 11 in limited and regular editions.
