Re:ZERO Season 4 Episode 19 premieres on September 30, 2026. The episode, also numbered as Episode 85 is the final installment of the season and will have an extended 45-minute runtime. Titled 'Shaula / Hero,' it concludes the second cour and the broader Recapture Arc.

Following the deadly battle in Priestella, Subaru Natsuki and his allies press on with severe burdens. Rem remains trapped in an unending sleep by the Authority of Gluttony. Crusch has lost her memories, and Julius has had his name devoured. Their journey now leads them into the perilous Auguria Dunes, guided by Subaru's knowledge of Shaula, a figure connected to the Pleiades Watchtower. There, they face powerful mabeasts and harsh conditions that test the entire group.

The official synopsis for the finale teases a critical confrontation. It states: 'At the topmost floor, Emilia discovers a black monolith and six handprints. Volcanica, having regained consciousness, addresses her as Satella, the Witch of Envy, and attacks her once again…' This climax concludes the eight-episode Recapture Arc, which began broadcasting on August 12.

Cast and creative team

The main voice cast returns for the finale, led by Yusuke Kobayashi as Subaru. He is joined by Rie Takahashi as Emilia, Inori Minase as Rem, Rie Murakawa as Ram, Satomi Arai as Beatrice, and Yumi Uchiyama as Puck. The production credits for the episode are extensive, featuring a large team of animation directors.

Series composition is handled by Masahiro Yokotani, who also wrote the episode's script. Original creator Tappei Nagatsuki serves as the script supervisor for the season. Masahiro Shinohara directs the season and provided the storyboard for this finale, sharing episode director duties with Kazue Otsuki and Yusuke Maruyama. Haruka Sagawa is the character designer and chief animation director. Studio WHITE FOX handles animation production.

The finale arrives after Episode 18, which recently ranked second in a weekly anime popularity chart. It marks the end of the 11-episode Loss Arc and the subsequent Recapture Arc, bringing a major narrative payoff in the series' 10th-anniversary year.
