Hololive TV Anime 'Odeholo' Reveals Cast and Staff

The television anime 'Odekake Hololive' announced its cast, main staff, and a teaser visual on Wednesday.

The anime is an omnibus travel story. It will depict the VTubers exploring various locations across Japan during their time off from streaming.

Series composition is being handled by Koudai Minami of Studio KAI. Character design is by Masatoshi Tsuji. Shunsuke Machitani is directing the project at Studio KAI, with Ouri Yasukawa serving as assistant director. The original work is credited to Cover Corporation, Hololive's parent company.

Production Details

Studio KAI is the animation studio behind the project. The studio and several staff members have prior experience with music and idol-themed anime. For instance, character designer Masatoshi Tsuji previously worked on sub-character design for the 'Project Sekai' movie.

Director Shunsuke Machitani directed the anime adaptation of 'Planetarian'. Assistant director Ouri Yasukawa worked on 'Rock wa Lady no Tashinami deshite'. Series composer Koudai Minami was an assistant production manager on 'Fate/Apocrypha'.

The Hololive Context

Hololive originally launched in September 2017 with the debut of its first VTuber, Tokino Sora. The agency has since grown into one of the largest global Virtual YouTuber groups. It operates multiple branches, including Hololive Indonesia and Hololive English.

The source notes that Hololive Production gathered more than 95.2 million YouTube subscribers as of June 2026. This new television anime is not the agency's first foray into animation.

Hololive Production also self-produces an ongoing 3D short web anime titled 'Holo no Graffiti' (or 'Holo Graffiti'). That original net anime premiered in May 2019 and features various talent roster members in episodic content.

Series Premise

The anime's introductory tagline asks, "Where shall we go today?" The premise posits that the unique girls of Hololive Production, usually seen behind screens during livestreams, head out to explore on their days off.

The series promises to follow them traveling across Japan through all four seasons. The story will involve eating delicious food, laughing together, and visiting undiscovered places. It is described as an exceptionally lively and fun omnibus travel story.
