The television anime for Katsuwo's manga #Zombie Sagashitemasu has detailed its cast, staff, and broadcast schedule. A special livestream on Sunday revealed a new key visual, the first promotional video, and the show's theme songs.
The anime is scheduled to begin on October 3. It will air at 11:30 p.m. On TV Asahi's IMAnimation block, with subsequent broadcasts on BS Asahi and AT-X.
Cast and Characters
The newly announced voice cast includes several veterans. Youko Hikasa, known for High School DxD, will voice Mikazuki. Makoto Koichi from Tensei shitara Dainana Ouji Datta node, Kimama ni Majutsu wo Kiwamemasu is cast as Touka.
Tomoyo Takayanagi (Uma Musume: Pretty Derby) will play Takamo, while Aino Shimada (Kakkou no Iinazuke) takes the role of Saigo. Kousuke Toriumi, recognized for Youjo Senki, will voice Aki's Father.
Production Staff and Studio
Shinya Une, director of Kanojo, Okarishimasu 3rd Season, is helming the project at Studio Comet. He is assisted by Kyouhei Suzuki, an episode director for JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze.
Series composition and script duties are handled by Kenichi Yamashita (Kawaikereba Hentai demo Suki ni Natte Kuremasu ka?) and Aki Itami (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san 2). Character designs are by Narumi Shimoji of Rinshi!! Ekoda-chan fame. Music composition is handled by Kenta Higashiooji from Princess Connect! Re:Dive.
Additional key staff roles have been filled. The art director is Masatoshi Mutou (Tokyo Ghoul). Color design is a joint effort by Ryouta Katsuta (Monster Musume no Oishasan) and Maki Yamamoto (Tensei shitara Dragon no Tamago datta). Shintarou Sakai (Kanojo, Okarishimasu) is the director of photography.
Jun'ya Satou (Kimi wo Aishita Hitori no Boku e) serves as the 3DCG director. Editing is handled by Yumiko Nakaba (Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san), and sound direction is by Yayoi Tateishi (Domestic na Kanojo).
Theme Songs and Source Material
The opening theme song "Lucky Lucky" will be performed by singer-songwriter Threee, known for Dark Gathering. The J-Pop band cadode, from Summertime Render, will perform the ending theme "Soft Apocalypse." Both songs are featured in the anime's first promotional video.
The anime adapts Katsuwo's adventure supernatural manga, which was serialized in Comic Dengeki Daioh "g" from June 2022 to November 2023. Kadokawa published the third and final compiled volume in January 2024.
Yen Press licensed the manga for English publication on July 27.
