Blue Lock Film Tops 1 Billion Yen
The live-action Blue Lock movie has earned over 1 billion yen at the Japanese box office. A promotional campaign has re-released rare tribute art from comic creators like Hajime Isayama and Hiro Mashima.
The live-action BLUE LOCK film has surpassed 1 billion yen at the Japanese box office, bringing a new promotional campaign from the Weekly Shonen Magazine editorial department.
The first part of the campaign began on September 2, with tribute illustrations from a large group of comic creators being re-released through the official BLUE LOCK comic X account. The artwork was originally included in a limited booklet distributed to theatergoers for the 2024 anime film BLUE LOCK the Movie -EPISODE NAGI-.

Film's Opening and Cast Details
The film began screening in Japan on August 7 and recorded 188,212 admissions and ¥277,648,800 ($1.7 million USD) at the box office from August 7 to 9.
The movie was announced alongside Season 3 of the TV anime, with Mei Hata recently joining the cast as Anri Teieri. You can see more of the cast below.

Muneyuki Kaneshiro writes the BLUE LOCK comic series, with art by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha is publishing the comic in English. The story follows BLUE LOCK, the project to create the ultimate egoistical striker that will take Japan to a World Cup trophy. Animated by 8bit, the anime has released two TV anime seasons and the BLUE LOCK -EPISODE NAGI- movie so far.
