The production staff for Eiga Meitantei Precure! Fushigi na Niwa to Futari no Himitsu (Star Detective Precure! The Movie: The Mysterious Garden and the Secret of 2 People) released two new trailers and a promotional still. According to Anime News Network, the first trailer and image unite the heroines from the current Star Detective Precure! series with characters from the preceding You and Idol Precure♪ and Wonderful Precure! Shows. A second trailer focuses solely on the core Star Detective Precure! Cast.
The film will premiere in Japanese theaters on September 18. It is the movie for the 23rd main entry in the long-running Precure anime franchise.
New Cast and Guest Appearances
The movie introduces several original characters. Akari Kitō voices Karin, a 14-year-old girl described as holding the key to the story. Nobunaga Shimazaki plays Alan, a fairy who watches over Karin, while Kōki Uchiyama voices another fairy named Rain, who requests help from the Detective Precures.
Comedy duo cotton members Jinji Nishimura and Kyon have guest roles. They play creatures called Dame Dame, who can slap an X mark on objects to render them unusable and immobile.
Production Team and Music
Hanako Ueda, known for her work on You and Idol Precure♪ and as an episode director for series like Summer Time Rendering and My Hero Academia, is directing the film. Yoshimi Narita, screenwriter for several prior Precure movies, is handling the script.
The music composition is a collaboration between Erika Fukasawa and Misaki Umase. Character design and chief animation director duties are handled by Emiko Miyamoto, the original character designer for films like Eiga Precure All Stars F.
Other key staff members include art director Risa Fujii, color key artist Satoshi Takezawa, compositing director of photography Takumi Arai, and production manager Hirotaka Naota.
Yūka Masui and Chihaya Yoshitake perform the ending theme song "FIRST PRISM." Ami Ishii, who also performs the TV series' opening theme, provides the insert song "First Step."
Star Detective Precure! Series Context
The Star Detective Precure! anime series first aired on February 1 on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and affiliate channels. Crunchyroll streams the series across numerous territories including North America, Europe, and Australia.
The story follows Anna Akechi, a second-year middle school student from 2027 who time-travels to 1999. There, she partners with Mikuru Kobayashi, another student who dreams of being a great detective. Together, they transform into Cure Answer and Cure Mystic to combat Phantom Thieves who steal precious belongings.
The main voice cast for the series is as follows:
Ami Ishii performs the opening theme "Heart ni Hint! Meitantei Precure!" while Akane Kumada and Yūka Masui perform the ending theme "Naze? Nazo?! ANSWER."
