Fake It to Break It! Manga Artist Changes for Chapter 17
Artist Megumi Dorokawa will replace Yone on the 'Fake It to Break It!' manga starting September 10. The change was announced by author Kotoko for the fantasy romance series published on Manga UP!.
Author Kotoko announced a change in artists for the ongoing manga 'Fake It to Break It! I Faked Amnesia to Break off My Engagement and Now He’s All Lovey-Dovey?!'. According to a September 1 post on X, formerly Twitter, artist Megumi Dorokawa will take over from Yone beginning with the series' 17th chapter on September 10. Dorokawa is known for her work on 'Share House Nile'.
Series Background and Plot
The manga, which launched on Square Enix's Manga UP! Service in 2022, is a fantasy romance. Manga UP! Global publishes the English version. The story follows Viola, a viscount's daughter engaged to Philip Laurenson, the heir to a duke. Their engagement is strained and silent. In a desperate attempt to end it, Viola fakes amnesia after a minor accident. Philip's unexpected response is to fabricate a past of mutual affection, claiming she used to call him 'Phil'. A romance then begins to develop from this deception.
Publication History and Related Works
The third compiled volume of the manga shipped in Japan in February 2025. The series is an adaptation of a light novel by Kotoko, which is published in English by J-Novel Club. The announcement also served to highlight other projects involving author Kotoko.
Kotoko and artist Kaname Hanamiya's manga 'The Final-Boss Prince is Somehow Obsessed with the Chubby Villainess: Reincarnated Me' is receiving a television anime adaptation. Separately, TO Books announced in February that Kotoko's light novel 'I Was Reincarnated as the Heroine on the Verge of a Bad Ending, and I'm Determined to Fall in Love!' will also get an anime.
Details on the Light Novel Adaptation
That light novel series began on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2021. TO Books published the first volume with illustrations by Tsukasa Satsuki in January 2022. Illustrator Kei Kumanomi took over from the third volume in December 2022. A manga adaptation by Ikuto Nanase launched on the Corona EX website in June 2022 and is published in English by Tokyopop's LOVELOVE imprint. The artist change for 'Fake It to Break It!' marks a new phase for the series as it continues its serialization.
