Pokémon Tales: Sirfetch'd & Pichu

A new stop-motion Pokémon anime series is set to stream globally on Disney+ in 2027. Titled Pokémon Tales: The Adventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, the project was announced alongside its first visual featuring the two Pokémon.

The series is being produced by the British animation studio Aardman, known for Wallace & Gromit. Disney+ confirmed a global distribution agreement with The Pokémon Company International for the show.

Story and Setting

The story is set in the Galar region. It will follow Sirfetch’d and Pichu on an adventure to protect the Pokémon living there. They will encounter unexpected dangers, new rivals, and allies. Their friendship will develop throughout the journey.

Ayo Davis, President of Disney Branded Television, commented on the collaboration. Davis stated that Pokémon has a rare power to feel nostalgic yet fresh. "With Pokémon Tales: The Adventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, Aardman brings their unmistakable stop-motion artistry and playful perspective to this beloved world," Davis said, according to the source.
