The anime 'Magical Explorer' has revealed new cast, staff, theme songs, and a second promo. It is set to premiere on October 4.
The television anime adaptation of Iris's light novel 'Magical Explorer' has announced new cast members, key staff, and its theme songs alongside a second promotional video. The series will premiere on October 4 at 12:00 a.m. On Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11, with broadcasts on Tohoku Broadcasting, TV Aichi, and Yomiuri TV to follow.

Prop design will be handled by Yaeko Watanabe, known for work on Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro, and Yuukei Yamada, associated with Fate/strange Fake character design. Naoto Hosoda, credited with character design for Isekai Suicide Squad, is the monster designer. Effect design is by Hiroshi Yakou of Senyoku no Sigrdrifa.
Other staff include Art Director Isao Yokoyama (Marriagetoxin), Color Designer Eriko Murata (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (TV)), and Director of Photography Shinya Kuwahara (Saigo ni Hitotsu dake Onegai shitemo Yoroshii deshou ka). The 3D Director is Haruka Sakaguchi (Rock wa Lady no Tashinami Deshite).
Keiko Oonishi (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) is in charge of special effects and 2D works. Editing is by Masahiro Gotou (Steins;Gate). Sound direction is handled by Jin Aketagawa (Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken), with sound effects by Toshiya Wada (Hai to Gensou no Grimgar).
Gaku Iwasa, an animation producer on Katanagatari, is the chief animation manager. The animation producer is Shinichirou Katou (High School Fleet).
Kazuki Oohashi, known for Shadows House, is directing the anime at studio White Fox. Series composition is by Satoko Sekine (Manaria Friends), with character designs by Ryousuke Kimiya (Zero kara Hajimeru Mahou no Sho). Music composition is handled by Kenichiro Suehiro (Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu).
Music and Source Material
Singer-songwriter ASCA, who performed themes for Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Raihousha-hen, will perform both the opening theme "Remedy" and the ending theme "Double Wings" for the series. A preview of the opening theme is featured in the newly released second promotional video.
The source material, an adventure comedy light novel, was first written by Iris on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2018. Kadokawa began publishing it with illustrations by Noboru Kannatsuki (Goblin Slayer) under its Sneaker Bunko label in November 2019. The 13th volume was released on April 1 of this year.
A manga adaptation by Yukari Higa (Zero no Tsukaima Chevalier) began serialization on the Young Ace UP web magazine in August 2020. Kadokawa published the manga's third volume on January 8. For English-language audiences, Yen Press licensed both the light novel and manga in December 2021.
The second manga volume went on sale in January 2025, and the 12th light novel volume is scheduled for release on November 10.
