Suzuki, known for his work on the Duel Masters franchise and This Monster Wants to Eat Me, will direct the adaptation. Series composition is handled by Juichiro Ichikawa, who has experience with Jobraver and Himitsu no AiPri. Character design will be managed by Yuki Kitajima, while Takatoshi Hamano serves as sound director.
Animation production is undertaken by HOTLINE. The protagonist Alus Reigin will be voiced by Yuto Uemura.
Plot Overview Alus Reigin, the world’s strongest magician, has defeated more
Fiends than any other and reclaimed vast territories. At sixteen, he requests retirement from military service, but fate forces him into a special magical institute where he hides his identity. There, he trains two promising female successors while secretly continuing to battle Fiends.
The story follows his dual life as a student and a hidden hero, balancing academy duties with ongoing monster threats.
The original light novel, published under Hobby Japan’s HJ Bunko label, has reached 20 volumes. The manga adaptation by Karu Yoneshiro, titled The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan: The Alternative, concluded with 10 volumes. A new prequel manga, The Greatest Magicmaster’s Retirement Plan Zero: The Secret Record of the Beginning, will depict Alus’s story before entering the Second Magic Academy.
It is scheduled to begin serialization this winter on Comic Fire.
