Roji's Ao to Midori boys-love manga is getting a live-action television series. The show will debut on October 5, according to an announcement website that opened on Saturday.
Naoya Kusakawa will star as Midori Yamamura. Hidekazu Chinen takes the role of Ao Hayama.
Production Team
Nao Nomura, Hitomi Kitagawa, and Saki Michimoto are directing the series. Ayumi Shimo is penning the scripts. Both Nomura and Shimo previously worked on the live-action adaptation of Ayaka is in Love with Hiroko.
Broadcast and Streaming Details
The series will have a multi-platform release. It will air on BS Asahi starting October 5 at 11:24 p.m. TV Kanagawa will broadcast it on the same day at 11:30 p.m.
Additional television broadcasts begin on October 8 on HBC, RKB Mainichi Broadcasting, and CBC TV. For online viewers, the series will stream first on Lemino starting October 5 at 10:00 a.m. Episodes will also stream on TVer after the BS Asahi broadcasts.

Story and Manga Background
The manga centers on the characters Ao and Midori. Ao excels at both sports and academics in high school. His innocence earns him the nickname "baby." Midori is in love with Ao but cannot be honest due to various issues. This creates a "mutual unrequited love."
During high school, both are imprisoned by the framework of "normalcy" and cannot convey their feelings. The story follows the next eight years as they move from high school into adulthood as working professionals. Their relationship slowly deepens throughout this time.
France Shoin published the manga's first volume in August 2023. Printemps Shuppan published the second volume on May 28.
Creator's Other Works
This is not the first of Roji's works to receive a live-action adaptation. The Countdown to Yes boys-love manga inspired a live-action television series that debuted in January. Animate International publishes that manga in English. The publisher also releases Roji's All About My Two Dads manga in English.
