Inept Villainess Anime Sequel Set for Winter 2027
The second part of 'Though I Am an Inept Villainess' will premiere in January 2027, with new cast members announced.
The second part of the anime 'Futsutsuka na Akujo dewa Gozaimasu ga: Suuguu Chouso Torikae Den' has been announced for a Winter 2027 premiere. The news came via an announcement on the series' official website on Monday, which also revealed a new key visual and three additional cast members.
The sequel is titled 'Hajimete no Gaiyuu-hen'. It is scheduled to begin airing in January 2027. The anime's production studio, Doga Kobo, will return for this new installment.
New Cast and Visual
The official announcement confirmed three new voice actors joining the cast for the sequel. Yuuichi Nakamura, known for 'Jujutsu Kaisen', will play Keikou. Shunichi Toki from 'Tokyo Revengers' will voice Keishou. Chiaki Kobayashi, recognized for 'Sousou no Frieren', will take the role of Unran. The website also released a new key visual, which some fans have noted shows a shift in focus between the two lead characters compared to the visual for the first season.
Source Material and First Season
The anime adapts Satsuki Nakamura's fantasy romance light novel series, which began publication on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in July 2020. The first anime season, produced by Doga Kobo, premiered on July 11 of this year. Crunchyroll simulcast the series with English subtitles as it aired in Japan.
The light novel is published in print by Ichijinsha under its Ichijinsha Novels imprint, featuring illustrations by Kana Yuki. The franchise has seen significant success. According to the source, the light novel series has a cumulative 5 million copies of its volumes in circulation, including digital editions.

A manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji has been serialized in Comic ZERO-SUM since December 2020. Both the light novel and manga have been licensed for English release by Seven Seas Entertainment, with the licensing deal announced in March 2023.
