Suikoden Anime Sets October 3 Premiere, Reveals Ending Song
The Suikoden anime adaptation has announced its October 3 television debut and revealed its ending theme song in a new promotional video.
The anime adaptation of Konami's Suikoden II will premiere on Japanese television on October 3. A new promotional video revealed the series' ending theme and confirmed its broadcast schedule.
The staff for Suikoden: The Anime streamed the third full promotional video on Friday. According to a press release, the video previews the opening theme "Kanashimi Sae Otonabite" by amazarashi. It also announces and previews the ending theme "closed eye sun" by Kōji Nakamura, featuring Honoka Takahashi.
Broadcast Schedule
The anime will debut on Tokyo MX at 11:30 p.m. On October 3. That time converts to 10:30 a.m. EDT. The series will then air on 31 other channels between October 6 and October 9.
Story and Cast
Konami describes the story. The hero and his friend Jowy are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade, involved in a border dispute between the Highland Kingdom and the City-States of Jowstown. A peace agreement was signed months earlier, but the fires of a new war continue to smolder.
The previously announced voice cast is extensive. It includes Toshiki Kumagai as Riliu, Shimba Tsuchiya as Jowy, and Ayumi Hinohara as Nanami. Other cast members are Katsuyuki Konishi as Viktor, Yūichi Nakamura as Flik, and Taku Yashiro as Luca Blight.
Production Staff
Yūzō Satō is directing the anime at KONAMI animation. He is credited as just YUZO on the anime's English website. Ryō Hino, a member of NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan's anime and music production department, serves as producer and production manager.
Michihiro Tsuchiya, known for PriPara and ClassicaLoid, is overseeing the series scripts. Character design duties are split. Fumi Ishikawa from Konami Digital Entertainment is credited as the game character designer. Arata Suzuki, also from Konami, is credited for original drafts of the anime character designs. Ryō Yamauchi, known for My Master Has No Tail, is the anime character designer.
Yoshikazu Iwanami, sound director for Psycho-Pass, is handling sound direction. Kōji Nakamura, who also performs the ending theme, is composing the music.
Related Releases
The source notes related Konami projects. Suikoden I&II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars launched in March 2025. This HD remaster is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.
The original Suikoden game was released for the PlayStation in 1995. The sequel, Suikoden II, followed in 1998. The series includes five main installments and five spinoff games. Konami is also developing a new mobile and PC game titled Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap.
