Star Detective Precure! Film Trailer Reveals Future Forms

The staff for Star Detective Precure! The Movie: The Mysterious Garden and the Secret of 2 People unveiled the film's Pochitan Miracle Light trailer on Sunday. According to Anime News Network, the trailer highlights the bonus Pochitan Miracle Light sticks that will be given to audience members in junior high school or younger while supplies last.

Viewers will use these light sticks at key moments during the film to cheer on the Precure girls, a tradition carried over from previous franchise films.

Exclusive Future Cure Forms

The new trailer also revealed the exclusive future forms for Cure Mystique, Cure Eclair, and Cure Arcana. These forms are unique to this movie. The future form for Cure Answer had been shown previously.

Film Story and Cast

The film's plot begins with the Detective Precures investigating the "X Mark Incident." A fairy named Rain appears and requests the team's help, leading them to a lovely garden called "Karin's Garden." This garden is being overrun by tiny creatures called "Dame Dame." The team's investigation into these creatures uncovers a secret hidden within the garden.

New cast members for the film include Akari Kitō as Karin, a 14-year-old girl who holds the key to the story. Nobunaga Shimazaki voices Alan, a fairy who watches over Karin, and Kōki Uchiyama plays Rain, the fairy who requests help.

Comedy duo cotton members Jinji Nishimura and Kyon are guest cast members. They play the Dame Dame creatures, which can slap an X mark on things to render them unusable and immobile. The film will also feature past Precure characters from You and Idol Precure♪ and Wonderful Precure!.

Production Team and Music

Hanako Ueda, known for her work on You and Idol Precure♪ and as an episode director for My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON, is directing the movie. Yoshimi Narita, writer of several past Precure films, is penning the script.

The music is composed by Erika Fukasawa and Misaki Umase. Character design and chief animation direction is handled by Emiko Miyamoto, the original character designer for Eiga Precure All Stars F and Precure Super Stars!.

Yūka Masui and Chihaya Yoshitake perform the ending theme song "FIRST PRISM." Ami Ishii performs the insert song "First Step."

Release and Series Context

The film opens in Japan on September 18. The Star Detective Precure! anime series, the 23rd main entry in the Precure franchise, debuted on February 1 on ABC TV, TV Asahi, and affiliate channels. Crunchyroll streams the series across multiple regions including North America, Europe, and Australia.

The series follows Anna Akechi, a second-year middle school student who time-travels from 2027 to 1999. There, she meets Mikuru Kobayashi, and together they transform into Precure detectives to fight the Phantom Thieves. The main voice cast includes Hikari Senga as Cure Answer and Kaede Hondo as Cure Mystic.
