The new cast members are Daisuke Namikawa as Solario, a dealer of the Liar Game Office; Yūya Uchida as Sho Kikuchi, a participant in the Liar Game; Hiroko Ushida as Tadako Kosaka, a participant in the Liar Game; and Minoru Shiraishi as Yuichi Nishida, a participant in the Liar Game.
The series follows the story of Nao Kanzaki, a college student who receives a mysterious invitation to participate in the Liar Game, a high-stakes psychological battle where lies, deception, and betrayal reign supreme.
The anime is directed by Asami Kawano, with Yūzō Satō as the chief director at Madhouse. Tatsuhiko Urahata is writing and overseeing the series scripts, while Kei Tsuchiya is the character designer and Kisuke Koizumi is the sound director.
The anime premiered in Japan on TV Tokyo and its affiliates on April 6, and will run for six months without breaks. The second part of the anime began on July 7. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime worldwide (excluding Japan and China), and AMEDIATEKA is distributing the anime in the Russian Federation.
The manga, which ran from 2005 to January 2015 in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine, has previously inspired two live-action films, two live-action television series, and two live-action online series. A new short serialization for the manga titled Liar Game: The Last Game was launched in Shueisha's Grand Jump Mucha magazine on February 25.
