## Second Season of Skip & Loafer Anime Announced The official website for the television anime of Misaki Takamatsu's Skip and Loafer manga has revealed the April 2027 debut of the show's second season in a teaser video. This announcement marks the next chapter in the anime adaptation of the popular manga series. ## Staff Members Return for Second Season The second season will be directed by Kotomi Deai, who also directed the first season. Deai will oversee the series scripts alongside scriptwriter Yōko Yonaiyama, who also worked on the first season. Character designer and chief animation director Manami Umeshita is returning, along with Reina Igawa and Yūsuke Inoue, who will also serve as chief animation directors. Other staff members returning for the second season include Sara Sakoe, Hiroyuki Honda, and Chieko Satō as main animators, as well as Satomi Higuchi, who will handle prop setting. Ryo Murakami will be responsible for 2D design and subtitle design, while Masahiro Murakami and Sumie Murakami will handle special effects. Yūta Fujii will work on background art, and Sō Senoo will serve as the new art director. Yūko Kobari will handle color design, and Akane Ueda will be the director of photography. Motonari Ichikawa will be the 3D director, and Ayumu Takahashi will handle editing. Haru Yamada will be the sound director. ## Streaming and Release Information Crunchyroll will stream the second season of the anime. The manga, which the anime is based on, is being released digitally and in print in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. The manga follows the story of Iwakura Mitsumi, a high-achieving student from a small town who moves to Tokyo and must navigate the challenges of city life with the help of her laid-back classmate Shima Sousuke. ## Background on the Manga The manga was launched in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon magazine in August 2018. It has received several awards and nominations, including ranking #7 in manga for male readers in the 2020 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Manga ga Sugoi! guidebook. The manga was also nominated for the 13th Manga Taisho awards in 2020 and the Best General Manga category of Kodansha's 44th annual Manga Awards in 2020. A stage musical adaptation of the manga ran in Tokyo and Osaka in March 2026.
