The television anime for 'Mezametara Saikyou Soubi to Uchuusenmochi Datta node, Ikkodate Mezashite Youhei toshite Jiyuu ni Ikitai' has detailed its main staff, key cast, and musical themes ahead of its October premiere. The series will begin broadcasting on October 4 at 9:30 p.m. On Tokyo MX, with subsequent broadcasts on AT-X and BS11.
New cast members include Kana Ueda, known for her role in 'Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works,' as Shouko, and Saori Oonishi from 'Kawaii dake ja Nai Shikimori-san' as Mei. The production also released the first promotional video, which previews the opening theme song.
Production Staff and Studio
Norihiko Nagahama, director of 'Maougun Saikyou no Majutsushi wa Ningen datta,' is helming the project at Studio A-CAT. Series composition is being handled by Takamitsu Kouno, while character design is led by Masami Sueoka. The sound director is Jin Aketagawa, known for his work on 'Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken' and '86,' with music composed by Kenta Higashiooji.
Additional staff roles include prop design by Yumi Sugihara and mechanical design by the in-house A-CAT Design Team. Art design, color design, photography, and editing are handled by Natsumi Ueno, Ryouta Katsuta and Maki Yamamoto, Keisuke Takahashi, and Hideaki Murai, respectively. Sound production is managed by Magic Capsule, with overall production by Hayate.
Theme Songs and Source Material
The opening theme "UNSTOPPABLE" will be performed by the Japanese rock band FLOW, famous for the 'Naruto' series openings. The ending theme "MY WAY" will be performed by the rock band ASTERISM.
Author Ryuto first published the story on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in February 2019. Japanese publisher Kadokawa began printing the novels with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima in July 2019 under its Kadokawa Books label. The 17th volume was released on May 9.
A manga adaptation by Shunichi Matsui began serialization in November 2019, originally on ComicWalker. Kadokawa published the 11th manga volume on March 23.
English License and Releases
North American publisher Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the series. The company secured the light novel rights in December 2020 and the manga rights in February 2021.
Recent English releases include the digital version of the 16th light novel volume on August 20, with a physical edition scheduled for September 22. The tenth manga volume went on sale March 31, and the 11th manga volume is planned for an October 20 release.
