The Baki spin-off manga BAKI GAIDEN: KAIOH RETSU Doesn’t Mind Getting Isekai’d is officially getting a TV anime adaptation. TMS Entertainment will handle the animation production, continuing its long involvement with the martial arts franchise.
The series follows the character Retsu Kaioh after the conclusion of his battle against Musashi Miyamoto in the BAKI-DOU manga. Reincarnated in another world, Retsu sets out to prove the strength of Chinese martial arts. He faces new opponents wielding swords and magic, and battles powerful creatures unlike anything in his previous life.

TMS Entertainment's role was confirmed in an announcement from the BAKI official X account. The studio has previously worked on the BAKI, Baki Hanma, and BAKI-DOU anime series.
The manga is based on an original concept by Baki creator Keisuke Itagaki. Sai Ihara is credited for the story, with Eiji Murai handling the art. It has been serialized in Akita Shoten's Monthly Shonen Champion magazine since 2020. As of August 2026, the series has surpassed 2 million copies in circulation across both print and digital editions.
The Baki Franchise Timeline
The source material outlines a lengthy history for the core Baki series. Keisuke Itagaki wrote and illustrated the original Hanma Baki manga, which ran from 1991 to 1999 in Weekly Shonen Champion and was collected into 42 volumes. This was followed by three sequel manga series: Baki, Baki Hanma, and Baki-Dou, all serialized in the same magazine. A fifth series, also titled Baki-Dou but with different romanization, began in October 2018.
